🛠️ Rebuilding After Stroke – My Journey

Through my blog, my art, and my eBooks, I invite you to journey with me as I explore the four defining chapters of my life:
- Before the Stroke
A vibrant world of motherhood, creativity, and dreams — the life I built and lived before everything changed. - The Silent Pause (Limbo)
A fragile time suspended in stillness — my coma, the in-between, where my body fought and my spirit wandered. - Waking Into a New Reality
The moment of return. The raw, painful, beautiful awakening. Where recovery began and everything had to be relearned. - Life After the Stroke
This chapter — now. Full of healing, rediscovery, artistic expression, love, and purpose. A life rebuilt with intention, honesty, and fire.

💞 For Partners, Families & Caregivers
“When one person has a stroke, it affects everyone who loves them.
But love is strong — and so are you.”
🧡 Emotional Support
What it means to be there
- Stroke recovery isn’t just physical — it’s emotional.
- Be patient with mood swings, memory loss, and frustration.
- Listen without trying to fix.
- Validate their pain and celebrate their progress — even the tiny wins.
- Remind them: They are still them.
🪷 Tip: Create a “communication pause” rule — where both sides can breathe before reacting emotionally.
💬 Talking About Intimacy
Yes, you can still be lovers. You just need new ways.
- Stroke can affect physical sensation, confidence, and energy.
- Talk openly about your needs — emotional and physical.
- Explore new forms of connection: cuddling, massage, sensual touch, art together.
- Don’t rush. Rebuild trust in the body together.
🛑 Avoiding Burnout 🧘
You can’t pour from an empty cup.
- Caregiver fatigue is real — and it’s okay to say you’re tired.
- Schedule your own rest and hobbies.
- Ask for help — from friends, therapists, or support groups.
- Set boundaries with guilt-free grace.
🪞 Mini Practice:
Each night, write down one thing you did well today. Not for them — for you.
